On July 2nd, I had the privilege of attending the latest edition of the Thetford Business Forum, this time hosted within the historic walls of Thetford Grammar School, one of the oldest learning institutions in the country, with roots tracing back as far as 631 AD. The sense of history surrounding us was a powerful reminder of Thetford's legacy and its continued journey forward.
As Mayor of Thetford, it was an honour to present an exciting new initiative to the incredible range of local businesses in attendance, my new fundraiser campaign, "Boudica Tap & Table." This project is close to my heart and aims to raise essential funds for three local charities that are making a real difference in our community. The response and support from those present were truly heartening.
In one of my other capacities, as a Director for the nonprofit "The Portuguese Offer, International Trade Exchange," I was pleased to use the platform to speak about the vast potential Thetford businesses have in the realm of exports and international growth. My goal is to help attract new investment into our region and to connect our vibrant local enterprise scene with global opportunities.
Most importantly, I want to express my full support for the Thetford Business Forum itself. Events like these are crucial for fostering collaboration, sparking ideas, and building the resilient, connected business community our town deserves.
My sincere thanks to all who took part, and to Thetford Grammar School for such a fitting and inspiring venue. The future is bright when we stand together.
