A Message of Support and Apology to the New Chairman of Breckland Council, Cllr Samantha Taylor

As the Mayor of Thetford, I believe it’s essential to recognize and celebrate the leaders who are shaping the future of our wider community. Today, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Cllr Samantha Taylor on her appointment as the new Chairman of Breckland Council. Regrettably, due to unforeseen family health issues, I was unable to attend her recent civic reception. Family responsibilities can sometimes demand our immediate attention, and while I am disappointed not to have been there in person to welcome her and show my support, I want to express my sincere apologies and assure her that my thoughts and best wishes are with her during this important time.

As Mayor of Thetford, I remain committed to attending as many public engagements as possible. I firmly believe that public service, though often demanding, is essential to fostering collaboration, maintaining open communication, and developing initiatives that truly serve our residents.
